MBTA To Hold Fare Hike, Service Cut Hearing in Brockton Tuesday

BROCKTON--The MBTA will host a hearing about potential fee hikes and service cuts in Brockton Tuesday, March 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Brockton at the Conference Center at Massasoit, 770 Crescent St.
Officials are holding the hearing to take public comment about proposals to decrease services and increase fare costs and fees.
If unable to attend upcoming hearings, comment about the plans can be made by email at fareproposal@mbta.com, via mail to MBTA, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116, Attention: Fare Proposal Committee, and by phone at 617-222-3200/ TTY (617) 222-5146.
Two more hearings will be held this week. These are:
Wednesday, March 7, 6 to 8 p.m., Fitchburg, Public Library Auditorium, 610 Main Street
Wednesday, March 7, 7 to 9 p.m., Hull, Memorial Middle School, 81 Central Avenue

A final fare and service recommendation will be made to the MBTA’s Board of Directors this spring and changes will be implemented on July 1, 2012.
