Men, Women Join Forces For Penelope's Place
BOSTON--More than 100 people from Brockton, the South Shore, Boston and cities and towns around the region attended the White Ribbon Gala Night Friday, hosted by the Love Life Now Foundation to raise awareness against domestic violence and to raise money for Penelope's Place, a women's crisis center in Brockton for women who need a place to go after leaving a violent relationship.
Jamarhl Crawford, (pictured, right) publisher and editor of The Blackstonian, a print and online news source in Boston, was presented the Live Life Now Foundation's inaugural White Ribbon Day Ambassador Award for his work against domestic violence and outreach in the community.
Attendees included Fox 25's crime reporter Bob Ward, and Channel 7 sports reporter Darren Haynes.
