In honor of Black History Month the Brockton Historical Society in partnership with the Greater Brockton Chapter of the NAACP will host "The Black Brocktonians."
This tribute to African American history will be held Saturday February 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brockton Public Library.
The program will feature an oral and pictorial history of many prominent African Americans from the greater Brockton Area and will be hosted by co-curator Willie A. Wilson, Jr.
Light refreshments will be served.
Proceeds from this event will help continue the ongoing mission of the Brockton Historical Society.
The event is open to the public. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Tickets will be available at the door.

BROCKTON--Brockton High's boys and girls basketball teams will head into the Div. 1 South playoffs this week.
The boys open the MIAA tournament against 13th seeded Needham (12-8) Wednesday night at Brockton High School. Game time is 7 p.m.
The boys, who finshed the season with a record of 17-3, are seeded 4th in the division.
The girls team, also with a record of 17-3, are seeded 5th in the division and will host either Mansfield or Taunton. Mansfield (13-7) and Taunton (8-10) play Tuesday night with the winner advancing to play Brockton's girls.
The girls play Thursday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
