The Brockton PostBROCKTON—Brockton’s under 14 girls softball team has won the South Shore League summer championship, finishing the season with a perfect 12-0 record.
The girls completed their undefeated run Aug. 6 with a win over Halifax.
Players on the team are: Gabby Ameen, Nichole Correia, Maeghan Cunningham, Bryanna Derocha, Amanda Gabourel, Meghan Golding, Laura Harkins, Alannah Healy, Bobbi Lu Holmgren, Abby Lambert, Emily Lewis, Ashley McDonald, Emma Otero, Karissa Pagan, Monique Vacca.
Mayor James Harrington said of the season: “It is individuals like these young ladies that make governing a city such a worthwhile endeavor. I could not be more proud of them and the organization, and I pledge to continue to do whatever necessary to ensure that girls softball continue to be a thriving sport here in the City of Champions.”
The under 14 girls follow in the footsteps of the under 16 team, which captured a championship banner in June.
